This huge fast growing tropical looking vine Solandra Maxima is evergreen in a warm Mediterranean climate.
Producing large glossy leaves and enormous, scented 'challice' shaped flowers in the winter as well as the summer, hence the common name 'Challice Vine'. The Spanish call this one 'copa de oro' or Cup of gold, and its obvious why.
Good, well drained, well mulched soil and regular deep watering will keep the plant flowering and at its best. Overwatering encourages vegetative growth at the expense of flowers. Propagate from cuttings or layering.
